Musicians from Macclesfield Music Centre supporting fund raising for the installation and maintenance of Bollington area Public Access Defibrillators
Macclesfield Music Centre is a community based charity where amateur musicians of all ages and ability can enjoy making music in many groups and styles. Three of the more advanced groups (Synchronised Saxes, Brass Group and Big Band) are here to support raising funds for installation and maintenance of our area’s defibrillators. Without use, each unit needs new pads and battery every two years at a cost of approximately £90.
The broader Bollington area has approximately twelve ‘defibs’ currently so the need for ‘top-up’ public donations is high. The generosity of the local community has funded many of these defib installations and continues to support new installations and maintenance of existing units.
Bollington & Macclesfield Community First Responders are volunteers working alongside North West Ambulance Service to provide potentially life-saving responses in the local community. They fund raise in order to purchase and install Public Access Defibrillators and also provide free training to the public in the form of either focussed defib sessions or a broader but short British Heart Foundation Heartstart course.
