Progression…
An Exhibition of work by Stuart Mollison and Andy Jeffrey
The challenge for all artists is to find and develop their own style.
In this exhibition Andy and Stuart show their progression over a period of time guided by mutual encouragement and
their mentor Anna Riordan.
Stuart Mollison
Stuart trained as a horticulturalist and often uses landscape and plants as a source material with the shapes, forms, textures and colours fascinating him. Urban sketching, buildings and architecture are another recurring theme.
Lindow Common
Pen and ink wash, watercolour, mixed media and acrylics are his materials of choice.
Recent exhibitions include MODA Manchester, The Stockport Open and Blue&Berry, Chelford.
Andy Jeffrey
Andy largely takes his inspiration from the countryside around him, the people he meets and fellow artists, however, recently interiors have started to feature. One of his Lockdown pictures “The Covid Captive’ was selected by Grayson Perry during the second series of his Art Club and is currently on exhibition at Bristol City Art Gallery.
Crummock Water – Clear Bright Day
The current series of ‘Wood’ pictures was inspired by the way that light filters through windows in early spring and late autumn with the wood pattern items leaning on Braque and Picasso during their early collage phase.
Spring Flowers
Recent exhibitions include MODA Manchester and Macclesfield Art Trail at The Park Tavern and Bristol City Art Gallery.
