Andrew Pal : The Human Landscape

Working mainly with watercolour on paper, Andrew’s approach embraces movement and uncertainty.

Each painting begins with observation of the real and familiar usually the human form, landscape and occasionally still life. From there, he moves towards abstraction and through the use of colour, line and tone creates an image that aims to evoke a feeling or memory or story in the viewer.

Andrew’s gestural approach means paint is free to flow. Splodges and splashes become new starting points. The result is a series of paintings that feel alive. These works are about finding meaning in the unexpected — much like life itself.

The exhibition will be at Bollington Arts Centre on five consecutive Sundays from 2pm to 4pm starting on 29th March and ending on 26th April. You can meet Andrew at these times. The exhibition will also be open for viewing when there are events in the Arts Centre.
