An Exhibition of Paintings by Beverley Robson, BA
Originally from Essex, Beverley Robson moved to Stoke on Trent to start a new life on her own, in her mid-forties. She regularly travels to Essex and France to see her family but loves living in the Midlands where the people are so friendly and the countryside is so beautiful and peaceful.

In her observations, on walks, in the countryside, beaches or parks, the many places of natural beauty, she is transfixed by elements of nature. The textures, lines and fluid shapes, that seem to move in the sunlight or hide in shadows and undergrowth, are evident in her work.
More recently, studying an MA in Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University, she has been able to develop her artistic style end engage with other talented artists.

Having used nature as the starting point and main inspiration for her creative journey, she has continued to indulge in the freedom of expressive painting. There is a suggestion in her paintings, of her sensations to nature, in colour, line and form. Influenced by Barbara Nichols, she has experimented with pigment and water. This continual interest in the fluidity of paint, lead to a more focused exploration of acrylic inks. Such interest in the medium of inks, further developed her interest in texture. She has experimented with gesso, salt, dried leaves, sand and anything that adds to the sense of place and the vitality of the paint and the image.
Manipulation of the acrylic inks seems random, and yet her eye and emotional response to what she sees, consciously guides these marks on the page and canvas.
